Gaïa Studio No.1 is a handmade ethical jewellery brand, dedicated to creating timeless pieces that last a lifetime, ranging from ready to wear jewellery to bespoke, handcrafted engagement rings. I had the chance to support them from inception by creating their forming their identity & brand guidelines and designing & building their e-commerce website.
Gaïa Studio, originates from the greek goddess Gaïa, the personification of earth. Celebrating diversity, transparency and sustainability. Ensuring mother earth and all it’s inhabitants are protected.
As a digital brand, mobile plays an important role in Gaïa Studio No.1’s overall strategy. With the founder starting her career in social media, understanding that the beginning of the customer’s journey in discovering the brand would be via mobile devices. With this in mind, it was imperative that we approach designing the ecommerce and web experience mobile first, while paying particular attention to layout and time speed.
The starting point of Gaïa Studio No.1’s visual identity all came from it’s name, the greek goddess Gaïa, the personification of earth. Each design decision pays homage to to the origins of the name, from the earthy tones of the colour palette to the graphic treatment shapes inspired by Greek architecture, we aim for every decision to be considered just as the founder considered every detail of the jewellery to be sustainable, ethical and kind to the planet.
